Author and journalist Dyke Hendrickson will speak on his latest book, Merrimack: The Resilient River, An Illustrated Narrative of the Most Historic River in New England. Beginning in central New Hampshire and flowing to the sea in Newburyport, Massachusetts, the Merrimack River continues to be an essential resource for the region. Once the site of numerous mills discharging waste products into its waters, today the river supplies drinking water to 500,000 people. In his lecture, Dyke Hendrickson will tell the dramatic story of this major waterway.
